The Mission of the North Monterey County Center for Independent Study

is the formation of an educational partnership between students, staff, parents and the community

to foster academic and personal growth in an individualized alternative academic setting.

School begins August 10, 2016!

 

  • NMCCIS was established in 1986.
  • NMCCIS is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).
  • NMCCIS offers University of California approved a-g coursework in all areas except modern languages.
  • NMCCIS is a State of California Alternative School that utilizes independent study as a mode of instruction.
  • NMCCIS is a voluntary alternative to regular classroom instruction.
  • NMCCIS offers instruction from fully credentialed, highly qualified full-time teachers.
  • NMCCIS offers students an alternative path to a high school diploma that is accepted at California universities.
